Scope and registration considerations

  • CQC's registration forms include additional information for oral-health services.
  • The activities, legal provider and locations must match the application and ongoing registration.
  • Dental organisations use the category 3 DSPT route where the toolkit applies; they should not be placed automatically into the CAF cohort.

Suggested evidence priorities

These are practical audit recommendations. They are not a claim that CQC requires an identical checklist from every provider.

  • Consent and treatment-record quality.
  • Infection prevention and equipment maintenance.
  • Staff suitability, competence and supervision.
  • Complaints, significant events and learning.
  • Information governance and controlled access to records.
