Design choices
- Semantic headings, landmarks, labelled fields and a skip link support navigation.
- Focus indicators identify keyboard position. Dialogs and tabs use standard keyboard controls.
- Text and layout adapt to small screens. Motion respects reduced-motion preferences.
- Tools explain required answers, calculation methods and errors. No action requires a drag gesture.
- Print styles support keeping tool results and guidance. Downloads state their file type.
Review date and scope
This statement was updated on 2 November 2026. The target is WCAG 2.2 Level AA. The latest source review was completed on 2 November 2026 across twelve representative page templates and the shared components.
The source review checked structure, labels, keyboard-handling code, print rules and the coverage of all 55 Level A and AA success criteria. A source review and automated checks do not establish WCAG conformance. The dated test results and remaining checks are recorded in the project evidence pack.
Known limits
WCAG 2.2 AA conformance has not been established. A complete manual audit and the required NVDA, VoiceOver and TalkBack tests are still open. Real-device text resizing, browser zoom and native Chrome, Firefox and Safari print previews also require completion. Downloaded CSV worksheets depend on the spreadsheet software you use.
JavaScript is needed for interactive tools, search, workspace controls and the enquiry-brief builder. Guidance pages and direct navigation remain readable without it.
A verified public accessibility contact has not yet been supplied. A public accessibility feedback route has not yet been verified. The enquiry-brief builder does not send a message to CQCaudit.
Feedback
Record the page address, browser, device, assistive technology if used, and the task that was difficult. Keep that detail for a verified feedback route when one is provided. If you need the content in another format, include the format you need.
